Since 2013, the international Green Product Award and the Green Concept Award have been recognizing outstanding sustainable products, services, and forward-looking concepts. The awards, seals, and certificates are granted based on transparent criteria and an independent expert evaluation by a panel of experts. This provides credible recognition and strengthens a company’s positioning with customers in Germany and on international markets. Our general award presentation offers a concise overview of the awards, the process, and the benefits.

  • Best Product (start-up)
  • Best Concept (via the Green Concept Award)

Award Process

How to Participate

  • 1. Create a profile
    Register in the submission portal and create your personal or company profile.
  • 2. Submit your project
    Present your market-ready product or service for the Green Product Award – or your concept that is not yet available on the market for the Green Concept Award.
  • 3. Formal review
    We review your submission for completeness and compliance with the participation requirements before it is admitted to the selection process.
  • 4. Qualification as a finalist
    The submitted projects are assessed according to the published criteria. Projects that meet the required conditions are granted finalist status.
  • 5. Public vote and jury evaluation
    Qualified Early Bird and Regular Bird submissions may take part in the public vote. At the same time, the international expert jury evaluates the projects according to the published criteria and scoring system.
  • 6. Receive feedback and a certificate
    Finalists and winners receive a digital certificate as well as individual, points-based jury feedback.
  • 7. Award and communication
    The winners are announced during the award ceremony. The awarded label may be used within the scope and time period specified on the certificate.

An international jury of experts in the fields of product development, design, sustainability, materials, research, communication, and marketing evaluates the submissions based on transparent and publicly available >> criteria. An overview is available on the >> jury page


Green Product Award

Schedule 2026/27

17 September 2026 Early Bird Deadline (30% discount for Product Compliance Check-up for EmpCo included)
17 November 2026 Regular Bird submission deadline
8 December 2026 Announcement of the preliminary finalists and start of the public vote

17 January 2027 Final submission deadline and end of public voting
17 February 2027 Announcement of all finalists
End of March 2027 Awards ceremony in Berlin

Those who submit their applications early not only benefit from additional terms and conditions, but also have more time to prepare their communications and plan any next steps.


Fees

Students and graduates within 6 months can apply for the Green Concept Award free of charge. For all other participants a submission fee of €450 applies. For established companies, a Finalist Package fee of €1,450 applies upon successful qualification. Both prices are exclusive of VAT. The Finalist Package includes services such as the digital certificate, personalized feedback from the jury, the online profile, and—subject to the applicable rules—the use of the finalist seal.


Criteria & Submission

Evaluation is based on the following criteria: Overall, Approach, Elaboration, Impact, Market, Design, Innovation, Sustainability. The jury evaluates the projects based on the information and supporting documentation submitted. Sustainability claims should therefore be specific, clearly defined, and supported by verifiable evidence.
