OMEX is an autonomous, modular vehicle system that transports people during the day and goods at night, designed for public transport and logistics. It uses ISO-container standards for an automated, crane-free module changing system. The chassis can be lowered for easy, barrier-free access. Sustainability comes from using one vehicle type for multiple tasks (increasing resource efficiency), reduced development/material needs, and easy repair due to modular components, which extends the vehicle's lifespan.
“OMEX” is a charming and imaginative concept that combines public transportation and freight transport. Even though the modular front and rear components - similar to Lego pieces - seem technically difficult to implement, the vision is compelling: an autonomous vehicle that serves as public transportation by day and transports containers by night. A forward-thinking, efficient, and fun idea.
