RCS 2.0 is a Rooted Cuttings System for professional horticulture and related industries. It solves the need for traditional growing substrates like peat by using compact, biodegradable cellulose paper bags to hold cuttings. This design reduces water, energy, and material consumption, lowers transport costs due to its lightweight form, and cuts carbon emissions. The bags are plastic-free, fully compostable, and use certified papers (Ellepot and BCC Fibercell).
By eliminating peat and reducing material, water, and transport impacts, ”RCS 2.0” exemplifies how targeted innovation in traditional industries can drive measurable environmental progress at a huge scale.

Stefan Reiner
As Head of Product Development, Stefan has been driving the RCS 2.0 project since 2020. He oversees every stage of the development process—from selecting sustainable materials for paper, adhesives, and trays to coordinating with partners to build the required production machinery. Stefan manages initial prototyping, trial runs, performance evaluations, and successive optimization rounds, ensuring that each iteration moves the solution closer to scalable, market-ready implementation.
